PLL is a volunteer run organization. Parent participation is vital to ensuring that the baseball program is successful and registration fees are kept reasonable.
As a parent, you are a member of PLL. Although game responsibilities vary slightly for each division, every family in our membership is expected to fulfill their volunteer commitment to their team (by volunteering at their child's games) as well as the League (as a coach, coordinator, concession volunteer, or other support volunteer.)
We are continuing our League Volunteer Fee for the Spring Season of 2023 for families with players in all divisions. This year it will work a little differently.
How does it work?
We ask all parents at registration to indicate their willingness to volunteer in the following positions:
- Head Coach (1 per team)
- Assistant Coach
- Umpire
- Team mom/dad
If you do not select a volunteer opportunity at the time of registration, you will be required to pay the $20 volunteer fee per player upfront during registration. Then at the beginning of the season, a concession duty sign up list will be released. If you, sign up and complete a 2 hour concession shift, your $20 will be returned to you in cash.
If a parent/guardian cannot fulfill their volunteer requirement at the League level, then your $20 fee will be used to pay a student volunteer for their time and help. PLEASE NOTE - this only exempts families from LEAGUE volunteer duties, parents are still expected to volunteer at the team level for duties like field prep, snacks, and scorekeeping.
